The Main computer lab contains Dell stand alone machines. Students use these computers to access the World Wide Web for research, to create presentations using PowerPoint software, to word process assignments, essays, poems, etc., and to communicate with teachers and peers via district e-mail.
We have 3 mobile carts - 1 cart with 25 laptops, 1 cart with 30 iPads and 1 cart with 25 Chromebooks. This year, we will receive additional mobile carts with chrome books. This additional technology will allow more access to technology for students to create, collaborate and present their learning. Moreover, these powerful machines will allow students to practice using technolgy in a responsible way as they learn to become ehical global citizens.
We also have 10 iMacs that are used by our students to complete credits in CTS Digital Media courses. Students love using programs such as Garageband, iPhoto and iMovie to produce professional quality pictures and videos.
Each of our classrooms has been equipped with a computer for our teachers to use to assist with delivering lesson material. These computers connect to the district Wide Area Network and internet. The teacher can develop and display information, graphics, assignments and video via the ceiling mounted projector. The projector displays the information onto the speaker equipped SmartBoard, an interactive whiteboard that acts as a computer interface. All computer functions can be controlled at the SmartBoard in front of the class.
